What's that smell, officer? No, it's not marijuana, it's pizza.
Weber County Sheriff's deputies were not fooled by claims that a strong odor of marijuana coming from a Washington Terrace apartment was pizza not an illegal drug as residents claimed.
Officials said deputies were called to the apartment building on a report of a strong marijuana smell on Monday.
When they went to the apartment in question, the residents invited the deputies inside, according to the sheriff's office. When the officers asked the residents whether they had been smoking marijuana, both allegedly replied, "No, we just ordered a pizza."
Eventually, a woman at the apartment told a man to "turn over the marijuana," according to authorities. The man turned over 4.9 grams of marijuana, a grinder and two pipes.
Both were cited for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
