The Washington Post editorial ("End Saturday mail," April 29) about the post office losing so much money failed to mention an extremely important contributing condition. In 2006, Congress passed a law requiring the post office to pre-pay 75 years of employee benefits in the next 10 years. That's one sure way to cripple a government institution and get rid of its union at the same time.
