When it comes to Utah's midweek forecast, Ma Nature has fired up her Caddy and is roaring down Thunder Road.
Bruce Springsteen would tell you to either "hide beneath your covers" or "throw some roses in the rain." Your choice, but either way, the next couple days will be colder and wetter from northern Utah to the southern reaches of the state.
Along with the crackling thunderstorms and rain showers expected to pelt the valleys through Thursday, springtime snowfall was predicted for the Wasatch Range above 7,000 feet elevation. Up to 5 inches of the white stuff was forecast late Wednesday and early Thursday along those higher peaks.
High temperatures both days were pegged in the mid-50s range.
Southern Utah, along with its own series of rain squalls, looked for winds of 10-20 mph and highs in the low- to mid-70s through Wednesday before skies clear on Thursday.
The Utah Division of Air Quality graded the entire state as "green," or healthy for breathing, but the Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website warned that pollen levels would be "high" for mulberry, sycamore and oak.
