A 23-year-old former nurse's assistant was sentenced to prison Wednesday for inappropriately touching a child patient last year at Primary Children's Hospital.

David Elijah Jensen had pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted aggravated sexual abuse of child.

On Thursday, a 3rd District judge sentenced the man to two consecutive terms of three years to life in prison.

According to court records, Jensen sexually abused an 11-year-old boy who was staying at the Primary Children's Hospital on Oct. 9.

The boy told police that Jensen came into his hospital room and touched his "private parts." Jensen then left the room, but returned later that night and sexually assaulted the patient, according to court records.
