Shaking off a wet weekend, Utah sighed with the arrival of cloud-scattering sunbeams and the promise of drier and warmer weather ahead.

After waning, isolated rain showers extending into Monday afternoon, the Wasatch Front looked for clearing skies and highs in the mid-50s Monday ahead of Tuesday's forecast for increasing sunshine and daytime temperatures in the low-60s.

Southern Utahns were shedding jackets and donning sunglasses with Tuesday's highs expected to flirt with 80 degrees, up 5 degrees from Monday's daytime temperatures — all under clear, sunny skies.

The Utah Division of Air Quality gave "green," or healthy grades statewide, and the Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website's pollen index was "low" for all allergens except for grass, which were at "moderate" levels.
