Millcreek, Utah • Two suspected armed robbers led police on a foot chase through a residential neighborhood south of Salt Lake City before they were arrested and charged in a holdup at a Millcreek restaurant.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal say the suspects brandished a handgun and a shotgun then made off with the cash box at the Lugano Restaurant about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

An officer soon spotted them in a grey pickup on 3300 South and began pursuit. They abandoned the truck and briefly disappeared but police caught up with them again on foot several blocks away.

A suspect with a handgun was apprehended without incident on the lawn of a home. The other one was found hiding in a garage he had forced open. No one was hurt. Charges are pending.
