Construction is expected to create new traffic delays beginning this weekend in Woods Cross and Wendover.

In Wood Cross, 500 South will be closed west of Interstate 15 for about a week beginning Saturday morning. Union Pacific plans to replace the railroad crossing at 795 W. 500 South.

Near Wendover, the Utah Department of Transportation is scheduled to repave a 10-mile section of Interstate 80 just east of the Utah-Nevada border.

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday and finish in early July. Traffic will be reduced to one lane as crews work, and crews will repave one direction at a time.

UDOT said work will be performed primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, with work as needed on Saturdays.

No construction on the I-80 project is scheduled over the Memorial Day weekend.
