Robert Redford may soon be giving out that old-time religion.

Tatiana Siegel of The Hollywood Reporter wrote today that Redford is in talks to play the late evangelist Oral Roberts in the drama "Come Sunday."

Jonathan Demme ("The Silence of the Lambs") is slated to direct the drama, which tells the true story of Carlton Pearson, an evangelical minister in Tulsa, Okla., whose life and career are rocked when he receives the revelation that there is no hell.

Jeffrey Wright ("The Hunger Games: Catching Fire") is set to play Pearson, a protege of Roberts. The screenplay, by Marcus Hinchey ("All Good Things"), is based on a 2005 story on the public-radio show "This American Life."

If all goes as planned, filming would start next spring. Redford is now working on "A Walk in the Woods," an adaptation of Bill Bryson's travel book, co-starring Nick Nolte and Emma Thompson, and directed by Ken Kwapis.
