A Kaysville woman was killed Saturday morning and her husband was critically injured in a rollover crash involving a family of six, the Utah Highway Patrol said.
Michael Riley, 36, was driving a Toyota Sequoia north on Interstate 15 in Clearfield when he lost control at about 7:43 a.m. and struck a concrete barrier in the median, according to the UHP. The vehicle went off the embankment near the 650 North structure and rolled several times.
Authorities said his wife, Rebecca Riley, 35, who died, was wearing her seat belt with the shoulder strap behind her back, which they cited as a possible factor for her fatal injuries.
Michael Riley was taken by helicopter to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden with several fractures and was listed in critical condition.
Four children in the vehicle, three girls and a boy ages 6 months old to 8 years old, were buckled up and suffered minor injuries, the UHP said. They were taken by ground ambulance to McKay Dee.
