Utah RB Radley 'shocked' to be named in Elliot Rodger's manifesto

Utah senior running back Lucky Radley hadn't seen Elliot Rodger since middle school, he told CNN in an interview that aired Monday. Naturally — after Rodger killed six people and then himself in Isla Vista, Calif. — Radley was "shocked" to learn about this passage in Rodger's 137-page manifesto:

"Lucky would later go to the same middle school as me, where he would become an object of extreme jealousy and hatred. Looking back, I can't believe I actually played with him as a friend in my father's neighborhood."

Radley told CNN he grew up three doors down from Rodger, whom he described as extraordinarily quiet.

"He never said any words," Radley told CNN. "He was just — he was just really there."

Radley said he went over to Rodger's house "a couple of times" as a kid to play games.

Radley, who rushed for 284 yards last season, is expected to compete for playing time at running back this fall after sitting out spring ball due to injury.
