Utah forecast: Sunny skies remain as temperatures rise

Don't put those barbecue grills and pool towels away just yet — a Memorial Day full of sunshine and blue skies will set the tone for the coming week, with more summer-like temperatures and clear days ahead.

The National Weather Service forecast through mid-week shows rising temperatures around the state, from the low- mid-80s on Monday to near 90 on Wednesday along the Wasatch Front, and temperatures hovering in the mid-80s throughout Southern Utah.

The Utah Division of Air Quality continued to predict "green," or healthy breathing conditions this weekend, though wildfires in northern Arizona may waft smoke into southwestern Utah, deteriorating air quality there.

The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website's pollen index was "very high" for grass and oak, "high" for sycamore and "moderate" for maple.
