The FIFA World Cup starts just two weeks from Thursday, and Salt Lake City has a vested interest.

U.S. men's national coach Jurgen Klinsmann last week announced Real Salt Lake midfielder Kyle Beckerman and goal keeper Nick Rimando are on the 23-man U.S. roster. It will be the first time either RSL player will play in the World Cup.

Interest in soccer is growing and The Tribune is responding.

RSL beat writer Christopher Kamrani last week launched a World Cup blog where he'll post regular updates about the Beckerman and Rimando and the U.S. team, as well as other World Cup related news and information.

Watch for ongoing coverage at sltrib.com and in The Tribune's print edition as well.
