Salt Lake City police are looking for an armed man who robbed a Smith's gas station.

About 10 p.m. Tuesday, the man brandished a weapon in the Smith's station, located at 873 E. South Temple, according to a Salt Lake City police watch log. The clerk complied with the man's demand for money — and with the cash acquired, the suspect fled on foot, the watch log adds.

The robber was described as a white man wearing a Chicago Bulls ball cap, a dark bandana over his face, and a black sweater and jeans. Investigators are withholding what type of weapon the robber allegedly used, so as not to compromise the investigation, said Detective Dennis McGowan.

No one was injured during the robbery, McGowan said.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect can call Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000. People can also text the information anonymously by texting the keyword TIPSLCPD and any relevant information to 274637, with the case number 14-85839.
