Salt Lake City police arrested a man after he allegedly responded to a neighbor's complaint about his drunken, late night noise-making by firing a shotgun several times into the air.
No one was injured, but the shotgun blasts, about 11:25 p.m. Thursday, resulted in several 911 calls.
When police responded, witnesses told officers that the 28-year-old man had been out on his porch, near 200 South and 1200 East, with his 4-year-old son when a neighbor asked him to quiet down.
The angry suspect took his son inside and then returned with the shotgun.
Police arrived to find the suspect still drinking, along with several other people at the home.
The man was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of intoxication, firearms and child endangerment counts.
The boy was placed in the custody of the Division of Child and Family Services.
