Hot weather is expected to continue on Saturday, with the highs in northern Utah predicted to hit the mid 80s under partly cloudy skies and lows dropping to the mid 50s.

Southern Utah will be even hotter, with temperatures in the upper 90s and lows in the mid 60s both Saturday and Sunday.

The forecast is a repeat of Friday, which saw a high of 86 in Salt Lake City and 97 in St. George.

The hot, dry weather in the southwestern part of the state has increased the risk of fire and prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Red Flag Warning for the St. George area through 9 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday will be slightly cooler in the Salt Lake and Tooele valleys, with a high expected in the upper 70s, while a high in the mid 80s in predicted for the Ogden area. Lows in northern Utah should range from about 50 to the mid 50s on Sunday.
