Utah forecast: 'Roller coaster' temps will start off June

Like Katy Perry's beau in her 2008 single, we're hot and we're cold to start off June.

Meteorologists expect June to get going with some "roller coaster" temperatures, according to a report released Sunday. Highs across the state will fluctuate for the first half of the week, especially in northern Utah, before leveling out by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

It's forecasted to be a cool Sunday in Salt Lake City, with a high of 77 degrees. But come Monday, high temperatures will hit almost 90 degrees along the Wasatch Front, before dipping to around 60 at night, then back up to the mid 80s for Tuesday.

St. George, meanwhile, will see a high of 99 degrees on Monday, followed by a low of 64, then a high of 94 degrees Tuesday.

Pollen counts for grass are very high, according to the Intermountain Allergy and Asthma Center. Mold has a high count, while maple and plantain are at moderate levels.
