Two suspects in a weekend West Valley City gunfire-punctuated gang clash were arrested and a third remained at large on Monday.

West Valley City police spokeswoman Roxanne Vainuku said that two men, ages 19 and 20, were booked into the Salt Lake County jail pending charges.

In the incident took place after the suspects and a pedestrian allegedly exchanged gang signs at a crosswalk near 3800 South and 2200 West about 3:45 p.m. on Sunday. It was undetermined whether the occupants of the car or the pedestrian shot first.

However, no one was injured in the gunfire.

Police responding to 911 calls located the car, which bore several bullet holes in its side, and arrested the pair, but a search of the apartment complex area where the third alleged gunman fled was unsuccessful.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call WVCPD at 801-840-4000.
