Utah forecast: Warm skies of 'clear and radiant glory'

Charles Dickens might describe Utah's midweek forecast as one embracing "the bright sun that brings back, not light alone, but new life, and hope, and freshness to man."

That's right. After all, Chuck wasn't ALL about snowy London streets, Christmas ghosts and ornery old men bathed in avarice.

The Wasatch Front, after a forecast for clear, sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid-80s on Wednesday, looked for more of the same on Thursday, albeit a few degrees cooler.

In southern Utah, the midweek was downright toasty with Sol blazing with "clear and radiant glory" (yes, Dickens again). Utah's Dixie expected highs in the upper-90s under clear, bright skies Thursday, an encore of Wednesday's forecast.

As for Utah's extended forecast, think of little Oliver Twist successfully pleading, "Please, sir, I want some more," and getting a big bowl full of clear skies, temperatures in the mid-80s in the north and near 100 degrees in the south into the coming weekend.

The Utah Division of Air Quality predicted "yellow," or compromised breathing conditions statewide into late this week.

The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website's pollen index was "high" only for grass, with plantain and mold getting a "moderate" grade.
