Cedar City • Officials say a Cedar City police officer has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in his patrol car while off-duty.

Officer Jed Prisbey Imlay was arrested Monday after someone reported seeing his patrol car strike a retaining wall in Cedar City, according to The Spectrum of St. George.

Imlay was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of the accident.

Washington County jail officials say Imlay was released Tuesday evening after posting about $2,000 bail.

Washington County Attorney Brock Belnap says his office has not yet received the case to pursue charges.

Cedar City Police Chief Bob Allinson says Imlay has been a great officer since joining the department in 2005.
