A second woman has died from injuries sustained when the car she was riding in struck another vehicle filled with teenagers in southeast Salt Lake County earlier this week.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said Thursday that Audra Howey, 35, of Millcreek, had died. She was a passenger in a car driven by another Millcreek woman, 43-year-old Kari Wartenbe.

Wartenbe was dead at the scene of the Tuesday afternoon crash at 2910 E. 700 East.

A 17-year-old was driving north on 700 East when the southbound Wartenbe car turned left in front of him near 2900 South, Hoyal said.

The teenage driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. Three passengers in the teen's car, all in their late teens, suffered no serious injuries.
