After moving from quarterback to wide receiver this spring, Micah Thomas will transfer.

The move, hinted at in Thomas' tweets earlier this week, was confirmed by Utah's program Wednesday. The program did not say where Thomas will go.

A 6-foot, 194-pound redshirt freshman signal caller out of Houston, he was caught behind Travis Wilson, Conner Manning, Adam Schulz and Brandon Cox on the depth chart, and with Donovan Isom, Kendal Thompson, Jason Thompson and Chase Hansen all being added to the mix over the next 12 months, the decision was made this spring to try him out at receiver.

He said all the right things, but Thomas sometimes looked uncomfortable at his new spot — as you might expect from somebody who had never played wide receiver before. Head coach Kyle Whittingham told ESPN 700's Keith Stubbs last week that Thomas might see some time at running back in the fall.
