Visitors to Arches National Park in coming weeks may be disappointed if they plan to access the popular Devils Garden Trailhead.
The Devils Garden Loop Road and Trailhead in Arches will be closed for the completion of a large renovation project from June 16 through June 26.
The trailhead, which provides access to natural features such as Landscape Arch, Double O Arch and Dark Angel, will also be closed.
Drivers on the 18-mile road from the entrance to the trailhead will be turned around at the Sand Dune Arch Trailhead parking area. Campers with reservations in the Devils Garden Campground will be allowed to reach their campsite.
The closure is necessary to allow crews to realign the road to allow for more efficient angled parking and to create a tour bus and recreational vehicle parking area.
Park officials are encouraging visitors to reschedule their trip around the closure, if possible, because pressure at other areas will likely be heavy. Parking regulations will be enforced.
Visitors are encouraged to enter the park prior to 9 a.m. or after 3 p.m.
