1 dead, 2 injured on Fort Duchesne reservation

The FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs are investigating a fatal shooting on an Indian reservation in northeastern Utah.

One man is dead and two boys were injured, according to FBI special agent Todd Palmer.

A BIA official called the FBI about the shooting in a residential neighborhood of Fort Duchesne on the Uintah and Ouray reservation just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, Palmer said.

Palmer said didn't have any information about a suspect.

He also did not have information about the injuries or conditions of the two boys.

Fort Duchesne is located about 15 miles east of Roosevelt, in Uintah County.

The reservation, in the Uinta Basin, is the second largest in the United States, covering more than 4.5 million acres.
