Emergency pothole repair on eastbound Interstate 80 near the line between Tooele and Salt Lake counties is expected to cause significant traffic delays until June 22.

The Utah Department of Transportation says eastbound I-80 has been restricted to one lane at the interchange with State Road 201.

The agency says delays of more than an hour, primarily during the morning commute, are expected.

It urges drivers to reduce travel there between 7 and 9 a.m — if possible.

Next week, lane restrictions will remain in place to allow time for new concrete to cure, although crews will not be in the work zone during the curing period.

UDOT said all lanes are scheduled to reopen by Sunday, June 22.

To ensure safety for workers and drivers, the speed limit has been temporarily reduced there to 55 mph.
