Police have issued an endangered person alert for a 12-year-old girl who walked away from a South Salt Lake group home.

The girl, Stevie Rae Shane — who has a history of running away and frequents the Cottonwood Heights and West Valley City areas — walked away from the Youth Services home at 177 W. Price Ave. (3610 South) at 10 p.m. Friday, according to the South Salt Lake Police Department.

Stevie is 5 feet tall, weighs 85 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple and pink button shirt and purple pants.

Anyone who has seen the girl or knows of her whereabouts is asked to call the South Salt Lake police at 801-840-4000.
