In response to Curtis Lundberg's letter ("Gun control not the answer," June 14), I think he has a good start to the gun problem, but not a complete one. We do need to help people with problems before they feel the need to pick up a gun. However, along with this, there should be a mandatory gun-safety class and licensing requirement. We do this in order to drive a car, and I can see no reason why we don't have this for gun ownership. It doesn't stop people from acquiring guns, but it does add a level of safety. It seems like a simple answer. There will be those that circumvent this same with cars but it will help.
