The gunman wore red, white and blue, but Unified Police say this was no patriot who held up a convenience store in Magna.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said the suspect, a blue-eyed, 5-foot-10 white man, covered his face with a red bandana, wore white gloves and topped off his felonious ensemble with a blue hooded sweatshirt.

At 2:04 a.m. Monday, he entered the Shell station at 8145 W. 3500 South, brandished a handgun and demanded the cash in the till. The clerk complied and the suspect fled on foot into the night.

Hoyal said officers set up a containment area and used dogs to search for the suspect, but came up empty.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call UPD at 801-743-7000.
