The Utah Transit Authority is inviting Ogden residents to share opinions about a possible future streetcar or bus rapid-transit system between the downtown area and Weber State University.

It has scheduled a June 25 open house to discuss from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ogden High School, 2828 Harrison Blvd.

UTA is beginning a new phase of a study about Ogden transit to help determine what mode is appropriate, and what route it should follow.

A 2011 study had narrowed possible transit options to a streetcar or bus rapid transit, where buses sometimes have dedicated lanes and passengers must buy tickets at machines before boarding.

UTA says it is considering how to best increase mobility, connectivity and travel choices in the area, along with other considerations such as how to boost economic development.
