The gang on the Salt Lake City-based Geek Show Podcast often talk about comic books. Now, one of its cast members is in one.

The new issue of DC Comics' title "Harley Quinn," featuring the bodacious and psychotic sometime girlfriend of The Joker, includes an image of GSP regular Shannon Barnson in the background.

It's a good likeness, capturing Barnson's barrel-chested frame, shaggy beard and trucker hat (emblazoned with the word "WORST," dating from Barnson's campaign to be voted "Worst Utahn" in City Weekly's annual "Best of Utah" poll). And the image shows Barnson in his natural habitat: A bar.

Comics artist Chad Hardin, who drew the "Harley Quinn" issue, is a Geek Show fan, according to the show's founder, Kerry Jackson.

Hardin included a second shout-out to Geek Show: A bit of graffiti that reads "Jeff Vice Was Here." It's hard to see in the final product, but clearer in Hardin's pencil sketch. (Hardin drew the comic several months ago, before Vice, former movie critic for the Deseret News, died suddenly from complications of an asthma attack in late May.)

Issue #7 of "Harley Quinn" is in stores now.
