Utah State Parks officials say the body of a Layton man was recovered from Bear Lake late Thursday, a day after he apparently fell off a dock and drowned.

USP spokesman Eugene Swalberg identified the victim as Justin Petersen, 37, of Layton.

Petersen was last seen by family members on the docks of Bear Lake State Park Marina just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Divers found and retrieved his body in about 15 feet of water shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday.

Parks officials continue to investigate the death, and Petersen's body has been turned over to the state Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
