Utah forecast: Officially summer, and it will feel like it, too

The calendar finally catches up with the weather on Saturday, and after a prologue of several warm, sunny days, it will officially be summer.

Utah's weekend forecast won't disappoint, either, as residents from the north to the south don sun hats, dark glasses, shorts and spread the sunblock lotion. Along the Wasatch Front, temperatures will rise to near 90 degrees, mirroring Friday's forecast; in the south, the mercury will sizzle toward triple digits.

No rain is on the horizon, either, the National Weather Service notes.

The Utah Division of Air Quality puts a different kind of damper on weekend expectations, however. Air quality statewide will generally be compromised, with "yellow" grades out for breathability through Sunday. Only Box Elder, Cache and Carbon counties got "green," or healthy ratings.

At least when you breathe, allergic reactions should be reduced. The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website listed only mold at "high" levels.
