Former BYU quarterback Max Hall is looking for work.

Hall was one of 11 players released by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Friday ahead of the team's season opener against the Toronto Argonauts on June 26.

Hall was listed as the backup quarterback as early as last week when the Blue Bombers lost 23-20 to the Calgary Stampeders. He had 53 yards, one interception and no touchdowns on 6-of-14 passing attempts in two preseason games this year.

The former Cougars passer was the team's starter in 2013, but struggled all season, throwing nine touchdowns to 10 interceptions with 1,999 yards and a 57 percent completion percentage. Winnipeg finished with a 3-15 record in 2013.

Former University of Buffalo quarterback Drew Willy will be the Blue Bombers starter after leading Winnipeg in the preseason, with former University of Louisville passer Brian Brohm and Purdue University's Robert Marve as his backups.

Hall played for BYU from 2007 to 2009, throwing for 11,365 yards, 94 touchdowns and 40 interceptions. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2010, starting three games for Arizona and playing in six with 370 yards passing, one touchdown and six interceptions.
