Saas-Fee, Switzerland • Rui Costa of Portugal won the ninth and final stage of the 78th Tour de Suisse on Sunday for his third consecutive victory.
Costa made the decisive break with 2.4 kilometers of the 156-kilometer mountainous stage to go and finished 13 seconds ahead of Dutch cyclist Bauke Mollema and 24 seconds in front of Switzerland's Mathias Frank.
Time trial world champion Tony Martin of Germany, who had been leading since the opening stage, was unable to recover after the leading group made its break and could only finish in fourth place.
