One person was hurt when a houseboat caught fire on Lake Powell.

The fire, reported about 1 p.m. Saturday, started in the engine compartment of a private houseboat in the Wahweap Marina, said Cynthia Sequanna, a Glen Canyon National Recreation Area park ranger. A boat management company had been working on the vessel and employees were able to put it out with extinguishers — but not before one of them was hurt, Sequanna said.

The employee was flown from the scene. The employee's gender and age and details of the injuries were not immediately available.
