Patrol locates missing plane in Arizona

Page, Ariz. • The Civil Air Patrol says it has found what is believed to be the wreckage of a small plane that was last seen leaving a northeastern Arizona airport.

KNXV-TV reports http://bit.ly/1wjtcBf() that Coconino County Sheriff's officials say investigators are trying to confirm if wreckage found Sunday afternoon 35 miles east of Page is an aircraft missing since Friday.

Authorities say a father and son from Southern California who were traveling to South Carolina left a Page airport without a flight plan. Family members reported the plane missing Saturday.

Coconino County Sheriff's spokesman Aaron Dick says two bodies were found inside the wreckage.

Patrol pilots from Utah, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico have been helping with the search.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
