A Fort Duchesne motorcyclist remained in critical condition Friday, the day after he lost control and crashed into a bar pit in eastern Utah.

Uintah County sheriff's Corporal Brian Fletcher identified the man as 45-year-old Albert Lance Manning.

The accident occurred about 3 miles south of Ballard. Manning was not wearing a helmet, and Fletcher said that it appeared that alcohol was a factor in the 6:30 a.m. Thursday crash.

Unconscious and unresponsive, Manning was found by a passer-by who called 911.

He was rushed to Uintah Basin Medical Center and then flown by helicopter to a Salt Lake City hospital.
