Woman dies in overnight Salt Lake City crash

A woman died after a collision with a bus in western Salt Lake City.

At 10:41 p.m. Wednesday, a Ford Explorer was traveling west on California Avenue when it collided with a southbound bus at the intersection with 3800 West, according to the Salt Lake City police watch log.

Three people in the Ford went to the hospital with serious injuries, and one of them — 32-year-old Merri Barrett — succumbed to her injuries, the log adds.

Investigation into the crash is ongoing.
