College hockey bragging rights in the Beehive State can now be claimed, thanks to the formation of the Wasatch Cup, a tournament that will feature BYU, Utah, Utah State and Weber State.

The debut of the annual tournament is scheduled for Jan. 30-31, 2015 at the Salt lake City Sports Complex. The tournament site will rotate between the four school every year.

The tournament matchups will be decided by the third ACHA West Ranking, to be released on Dec. 15. The highest-ranked team will play the lowest-ranked team in one semifinal and the second-highest-ranked team will play the third-highest-ranked team in the other.

The Wasatch Cup championship game will pit the two semifinal winners against each other on Jan. 31, while the two losing teams will play a consolation game on the same day.

"With each team always playing a different amount of games against each other throughout the season, this two-day tournament is aimed to not only showcase college hockey in Utah, but finally put an end to over which team is the best in the state," the Utah hockey team said in a news release.

The times for the Wasatch Cup tournament games have not yet been determined.
