Letter: Assisted living not a nursing home

After reading the article about Highland Cove ("Number of Utahns in nursing homes drops," July 4), I felt prompted to send this note.

In several places, Lee Davidson refers to it as a nursing home. That is not correct. The official name is Highland Cove Senior Living and Assisted Living. When and if the residents become too ill or need services not covered here, they are transferred to a nursing home. If and when they have an accident or surgery, they go to a care center first. Then they come back here, maybe to assisted living.

We have lived here for five weeks and find it very suitable!
