Salt Lake Bees outfielder Brennan Boesch has been named the Pacific Coast League's Player of the Month for June, according to Minor League Baseball.

Boesch led the PCL in batting average (.405) and slugging percentage (.786). He also ranked first with 24 RBIs and 16 extra-base hits, including seven home runs and two triples.

A former third-round draft pick of the Detroit Tigers in 2006, Boesch attended Cal. This is his first season in the Los Angeles Angels' organization.

The Salt Lake Bees open a three-game series at El Paso on Friday night, prior to the All-Star break. They return to Smith's Ballpark on July 17 to start an eight-game home stand against Las Vegas and Reno.
