My comment on ("Time to remove 'U' and 'Y' from mountains," July 10):

Jerry Conder does not like the large initials on a mountain. He wants them to be erased. What is going on here? First, people did not like the names of the football teams, Utes and Redskins. They want them to change their names, which they have had for ages. Then they did not like the some of the words in the fight song, which they want to change from "man" to "fan," among other things. Now this. He thinks the large initiials are graffiti on the mountains.

What is the matter with having them on the mountain, which is always taken care of.? It is not defacement of the mountain or graffiti. Is he willing to do the job of removing them? I say leave them alone.
