A Clinton man died after he fell and a drill pierced his heart on Wednesday.
Scott Nathan Johnson, who was in his early 20s, was drilling floors onto trailers Wednesday afternoon at his work, Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co., near 1100 S. 1000 West in Clearfield, when the accident occurred, police said Thursday.
"For some reason he tripped or fell ... just a four-foot fall, and when he fell, a drill bit he was holding entered into his chest," said Clearfield Assistant Police Chief Mike Stenquist. "It punctured his heart and he died immediately."
The police suspect no foul play. The accident occurred about 4:36 p.m. Wednesday.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is also conducting an investigation into the matter.
