South Jordan's Sirene Blair is playing this morning in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship at DuPont, Wash.

Blair, a Bingham High School graduate and San Diego State golfer, qualified for match play as the No. 18 seed and has won three matches at The Home Course. She took victories of 5 and 4 over Nani Young of Hawaii, 3 and 1 over Maddie Szeryk of Texas and 3 and 1 over Soobin Kim, a University of Washington golfer from South Korea.

In the quarterfinals, Blair's match vs. Cindy Ha of New Jersey was scheduled for 9:20 a.m. MDT. The semifinals will follow in the afternoon and the 36-final match will be played Saturday.

Blair, a four-time Class 5A state tournament medalist for Bingham, was named the Mountain West's freshman of the year and made the all-conference first team.
