South Salt Lake police are asking for the public's help in bringing a gun-toting convenience store robber to justice.

SSLPD spokesman Gary Keller said the suspect — described as a 30-35 year old white or Latino man, 5-foot-7, of thin build and wearing a baggy black, yellow and purple hooded windbreaker, dark gray pants and white shoes — walked into the Maverik store at 2700 S. Main Street about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the female clerk, demanded and received cash. He then fled the store.

Police arrived moments later and set up a search area but could not find the man.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call SSLPD at 801-840-4000.
