• KRCL's "Pie & Beer Day" fund-raiser — featuring pie from Salt Lake City bakeries Tulie Bakery, Eva Boulangerie and Cafe Trio — happens at Beer Bar, 161 E. 200 South, Salt Lake City. The event runs from 3 to 5 p.m. Admission is $15, which includes six pie samples; beer samples are $1 each.

• Post-hardcore/metalcore band Victory Heights performs at Loading Dock, 445 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: We Rise the Tides, Forget the Sunset, Charlatan, Alumni, Memories Never Die. Show starts at 6:30. Tickets are $12, at 24Tix.

• Retro soul-funk band Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires performs in this week's Twilight Concert Series show, at Pioneer Park, 300 West and 300 South, Salt Lake City. Opening act: The Budos Band. Show starts at 7; gates to the Twilight Market open at 5. Tickets are $5, at the gates.

• Real Salt Lake takes on the Montreal Impact in MLS action, Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium, 9270 S. State St., Sandy. Game starts at 8 p.m. Fireworks follow the game. Limited tickets available via the Rio Tinto website.

• Black-metal band Ash Borer performs at The Urban Lounge, 241 S. 500 East, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Hell, Wolvserpent. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $12, available at 24Tix.
