A car crash in Eagle Mountain killed two people Thursday.

Katherine Hancock, 15, died on impact, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office. Jennifer Ashley Taft Bailey, 28, died Thursday evening. Both were from Eagle Mountain.

The crash happened about 1:30 p.m. on State Road 73 near mile marker 31, according to Cannon. Hancock was a passenger in a Chevrolet Cruze driving west. Bailey was the only person in a Ford Fusion driving east.

A press release from the sheriff's office said a witness saw the Ford across the center line, striking the Chevy. Hancock's father was driving the Chevy and her 10- and 7-year-old brothers were in the car, too.

The press release said an open bottle of alcohol was found in the Ford and investigators are determining if it played a role in the crash.
