Letter: Are we really horse lovers?

As I watched the Days of '47 Parade, I was especially aware of the many beautiful horses. It seems clear that we in Utah value and appreciate horses. How can it be, then, that after 10 horses in Magna were left to die of thirst and starvation, the only solution I have seen proposed to address similar situations is a state slaughter facility?

There are those who also think this is a good tool to use with our wild horses. Really? I will be interested to find out what kind of penalty Erda Livestock will face for its heartless behavior.
