Midway motorcyclist upgraded to good condition

The condition of a Midway motorcyclist was upgraded on Tuesday, three days after he was injured in crash on Interstate 84 near the Utah-Idaho border.

The Idaho State Police said that W. Kent Kohler, 49, was riding eastbound in the left lane near mile post 274 just before 9 p.m. Sunday, followed by Victoria Rhea, 19, of West Jordan. After passing a semi-trailer truck, Rhea's Mazda moved into the right lane, and as she drew next to Kohler, his motorcycle moved into her lane and the two vehicles crashed.

Both the car and motorcycle ended up in the median.

Kohler, who was not wearing a helmet, was flown to Ogden Regional Medical Center by helicopter. Rhea, who was wearing a seatbelt, was unhurt, ISP said.

On Tuesday, hospital spokesman Craig Bielik confirmed that Kohler was listed in good condition.
