A day after being struck by a car while crossing a busy intersection in Ogden, a 67-year-old woman remained in critical condition Thursday afternoon.
The woman was in the crosswalk making her way across 24th Street at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle making a left turn onto Harrison Boulevard collided with the woman, said Ogden police Lt. Kevin Cottrell.
"Harrison's a very busy road, and that's when people are getting off work and coming home," Cottrell said. "So, yeah, there's a substantial amount of traffic at that time."
The driver, a 70-year-old woman, was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian, Cottrell said, adding that the traffic signal was in the pedestrian's favor.
The victim was rushed to McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden, where she remained in critical condition as of midday Thursday, Cottrell said.
