Salt Lake City police are asking the public's help in identifying and bringing to justice a suspect in the weekend armed robbery of a downtown bank.

Police say the robber — a 5-foot-8 black male, 55-60 years old with gray hair, heavy build and wearing glasses and a light colored T-shirt — entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 299 S. Main St. just before 11 a.m. Saturday.

He went to a teller, said he had a gun and demanded cash. The teller complied and the robber, carrying a black duffle bag, fled the bank. He was last seen running eastbound on 300 South.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call SLCPD at 801-799-3000.
